In the summer of 2025, the Fondation William Cuendet & Atelier de Saint-Prex and the print room of the Jenisch Museum in Vevey are organizing an exhibition dedicated to the prints of Albert Chavaz. The exhibition will be curated by Julie Eggel, Assistant Curator of the Jenisch Museum.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Born in Geneva, Albert Chavaz (1907-1990) was a major figure in the artistic circles of 20th<\/sup>-century French-speaking Switzerland. He discovered the Valais region in 1934 while working on a decorative wall commission, then spent the rest of his life there, setting up his studio in Savi\u00e8se in 1940. A renowned painter, Chavaz primarily focused on landscapes of Valais and beyond, as well as female figures and still lifes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n In the early 1970s, Chavaz partnered with the Atelier de Saint-Prex, which enabled him to manage the technical production and printing of his works, especially aquatints and colour lithographs. The exhibition will present a comprehensive view of the artist’s engravings, organised thematically, and is made possible by a recent donation from the Fondation Albert Chavaz, which has now been added to the collections of the Fondation William Cuendet & Atelier de Saint-Prex.
